What's The Difference Between 1999 And 1997 Side Steps

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between 1999 and 1997 side steps for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I see a number of 1999 side steps for sale but none of the sellers know if they will fit a 1997.

Completely different body change in '98, don't know what changed as far as how the sidesteps attach, but I'm sure it's significant.
