What's that about?

There are alot of homes that have a large star on them, a few around here but they are more common up in PA. Just wondering what they are... a meaningless decoration, a sign of being a memeber of an organization? Just curious, I see them so often and curiosity is getting to me.

Anybody know? They look similar to this:

...and while we're on the subject... what do those signs that say "1792" signify? I believe they have open hands under the 1792? - also on many homes.

Never seen that before, neither in VA when I lived there or down here in S. Florida. Hummmm.....

It is known as a decorating trend

they are wildly popular in Texas also.

no harm just a fad.

RE: How to dispose of hardtop?

Well I would understand them being in the Lone Star State, but it's kind of odd in small town Pennsylvania.

It's a simple case of people trying to be like us Texans again.  JK
