What was the last year for cherokee to have the 2.8 gm engin

1. Anybody know what was the last year for the cherokee to have the 2.8 gm engine?

2. Anybody know if the bolt pattern (bellhousing) is the same on the 4 cylinders, I6's and the GM 2.8 six ??

Any help on the above will be greatly appreciated!!!

might be getting a different Dana 44 now

1= 1986

2= I dont think so but not 100% sure

the bellhousing on the chrysler 903 three speed automatic in jeeps with the 2.8 will only bolt to the 2.8L block and I beleive the 4.3L GM bloclks. I am not sure about the four banger. Hope this helps

The I6 and the 4banger bellhousing bolt patterns are different.

The 2.8L uses the same GM 60º bellhousing pattern as the 3.1L and 3.4L engines.

How many miles is too many on a used Jeep?

Arent the 3.1 and the 3.4 the same block just bored and stroked?
