I really havent had the chance to take my jeep some of the places i have read on this site, but would like to one day. I currently have a 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sahara, and am wanting to put a 2" or 3" lift on it. I have read some coments about different lifts being rougher than others. My question which is a good lift package all around, I have heard bad and good things about Pro Comp, and that is what I am looking at right now. Thanks for the help

STOP !!!!!!!!!!

First, you gotta figure out a couple of things first.

1. What type of trail riding do you want to do ?

Are you going to do some weekend riding on moderate trails ?
Are you going to be doing rock crawling ?
Are there alot of creeks and water crossings in your future ?
What is the terrain around you...is it flat sand, muddy bogs, steep hills, rocks and boulders ?
Some lifts are recomended for different applications.

2. Is your Jeep a daily driver..if so haw far do you drive it daily ?

3. What EXACTLY are your plans for the future ?
Do you think you might upgrade (alot of people go with a small lift and slightly bigger tires, only to upsize the following year) Is this the way you want go ? Nothing wrong with that, just something to keep in mind.

4. How much money do you have to spend ?
Jeeps cost money lol It's addicting, and once you start, you can't stop...anybody want to argue with me lol.

These are a couple of questions you should be thinking about, and should be able to answer even before you start looking for a lift
:-)

Keep posting, and I'll be happy to help ya, just do not want to give the wrong info to you :-)

You have ask the $64,000.00 question! PASmokeater just gave you the advice that was needed so take it and check around in your area to see what the local shops offer and what the local wheelers run. Tug[addsig]

Thanks all for the info, this response is for Jeep Addict,
1. I plan on doing some weekend riding on moderate trails and some mudding for fun.
2.I drive my jeep about 40 miles
3. I dont really know what my plans for the future are going to be with my jeep, I know what i want to do now and that is about it. I also want to and the lift for looks as well as recreational.
4. This is tough question because i know on many thing you pay for the name, but if there is a lift package out there that is cheat but really good i wouldnt mind going that rought. But if i have to spend a little more for quality i would do so.

I dont if these answers help you any in telling what is a good lift package to get. I look forward to your response.
Thanks

Hell Creek Suspension I don't own this kit, yet, but 2 guys in my club do and they swear by it. I don't know what kind of Jeep you have, but if it's a YJ, I think this kit sounds like you. If you have a TJ, then I'd suggest a 2inch coil spacer. with some meaty 31inch tires. Good Luck.

Yup yup, I agree with Hi c...go with a 2" coil spacer lift and 31's. Won't compromise the ride, and will give you more than enough clearance for moderate trails. As far as the lift brand, it's all in what works for you and in your area. Coil spacers are for the most part (not all) a standard item.
You might also want to consider changing the shocks to a longer size.

Keep on Jeepin :-)
