vibration on 3rd gear

hi guys hopefully you can help me with these problem:i got a 89 yj 4 banger 1 and 1/2 shackle lift and 31s and it runs fine,but when i switch from 2nd to 3rd gear my jeep starts shaking,also when i go over 60 mph it shakes a bit to,can anyone tell me what these could be

Check your u joints, better yet just replace them. They are cheap

I'd start by having your tires balanced. I just had mine redone and it got rid of a slight vibe.

did this start all of a sudden? have you changed anything... ie, rotated tires, went wheelin, hit a pot-hole? Something had to spark it.

You say that it starts shaking in between 2nd and 3rd, does that mean while no gears are engaged? The vibes here and the vibes at 60 could be 2 different things. I would bet that the 60mph vibes are some tire issue. The other is weird and we need more info. Where do you feel the shake? steering wheel? seat? stick shift?

Other than balancing the wheels, check the motor and transmission mounts. That be my second suspect.

ok,thanks for helping guys,the shaking is really in 3rd gear and i think it started after a replace my shackles for some cheap ones i got in autozone,my jeep is manual

that could be it... a shackle lift does affect the driveline angle.. but... it affects it in a positive way... but will add to a better chance of front end problems.

when you replaced your joints, which ones did you replace?
