Okay, so I cannot find a replacement transmission for my Jeep CJ... can anyone out there tell me what will be a direct bolt in (no adaptors) for my 1981 Jeep CJ-7, with the 2.5L four cylinder engine and Dana 300 T-case?
It currently has an SR-4 (which I know is not well built to begin with, and the fact I no longer have reverse doesn't help either). I'd use the same trans if I could find one just to get it back on the road, but would prefer something a bit stouter.
If I had the space, I'd be starting on a coversion over to at least an in-line 6 like my other Jeeps, but the apartment manager kinda frowns on people turning the lot into a work shop (GRRR!).
