transmission problems

i was checkin the fluid in my transmission yesterday, and since then its been making a strange noise since. cant really explain the noise. im gonna drain the fluid and replace it. if that does not work i will post again. what fluid should i get and how many quarts? the haynes doesnt specify how much it holds. how many miles is a 90 yj transmission good for? maybe time for a new one if this does not help. thanks in advance.[addsig]

you need something that is a GL3 NOT GL5!!!! something like penzoil synchromesh, ans it needs to be around 80w-90 weight[addsig]

pennzoil synchromesh fluid... you can find it at most autopart stores... $5 per quart... you will need to buy 4, and use 3.3 quarts[addsig]
