Hey All,
Just got home from the Kremmling Ametur Rockcrawl and heres the update of damage to my 1999 TJ,
Bent Tie Rod,
Transmission Skid beat to crap and missaligned
Shakes at 25-30mph
Large Hole in rear passenger body panel
Dented Front Driveshaft.
All in all it was another great day of wheeling in the Rockies! Just remember to stay off the skinny in obsticle 9!

Good News,
Went to the local junkyard and pulled a stock transmission skid for 65 bucks. I figure if i use about four of these it will about equal the price of a decent skid. When i installed it it strongly cutdown on teh vidrations, but they are still there nontheless. Any ideas on why this is? Thanks!!![addsig]

If you hit rocks hard enough to tear up the skid, probably a bent or dented driveshaft. May just have hit enough to need balancing.

My skidplate looks like a pretzel, lots of different angles, but it's still on there waiting for a custom flat skid. Gotta do something before I wear through the transmission case :-O [addsig]
