i am thinking about installing a electric fan in my jeep but before i do i need to know a few things first. what is the minimum air flow (CFM) i would need to cool my jeep? or how much is the stock one putting out? also do i need a bigger alternator? i was thinking about a flex a lite fan? is this a good idea or is a ford taurus fan just as good?

I installed the flex-a-lite 485 puller. Love it. Hardest part was getting the old fan off. I had to make a breaker bar to hold the pully while turning off the fan. The on state current is 18A and at start it could spike up to 23A or so. They give you a 20A fuse and it may blow out as mine did after a few cycles. I installed a 1/2 F cap across the power leads and no more issue.

As for a bigger altinator, it depends on what load you are already drawing. Do you have any add on electronic equipment? Large amp, higher watt head lights...?

I hear the Tarus fan is easy, cheap and works well. I have no direct experience with this only what I read.

Just go the cheap route; get a fan (with shroud) from a mid 90's Ford Taurus (the 2 speed one). It should run you about $30 (mine was $28), and it will pull about 4000 CFM (more than any Flex-a-lite). Google "Ford Taurus Fan Conversion" and you'll get a gazillion writeups...
