One or two of our opinions:

Over past years we all ran Goodrich AT & Mud Terrains in our group and were happy until the switch to Goodyear MTR's, testing them in every type on and off-road condition (Except serious mud) and they have been great. I have since run two sets of MTR’s with the first set lasting 35K. They still had plenty of tread but were looking kind of shabby. They went to a trail only Jeep and are still in use. The other set are on their 25K mile and I will buy more when the time comes, barring anything surprisingly new. Note, the MTR's do ride soft, smooth and are quiet (as quiet as you can get in a Jeep with the top off) plus they have a nice long life, and the kids think they look mean.

The Yokes Geolander tires, I can't comment on. No one we run with has these out here.

The Super Swampers are great off-road, although they have limited mileage on road and they are noisy. Trail only Jeep, this would be my choice, if you were buying. L.O.L.

Happy Shopping :-D [addsig]

I have a buddy who wheels often and has the yoke's, bought them out of Summit I think, but he has no complaints. They kinda cake up in thick new england mud but give the tires a quick spin and they clean out! unfortunate lose of traction though.

Swampers are nice show tires, and perform very nicely on the trail, but I have heard horror stories about these tires on the road. They wander very badly on the highway, near impossible to 100% balance poor wet weather handling and poor snow handling. I personally never owned a set so this is second hand info!

Go with the goodyears, I have only heard good things about them, and have seen them perform remarkably well!

I have seen the Geolanders in action and driven the Geolanders on the road and will on the trail soon. Here is what I have to say about the Geolander " WOW WOW WOW" Them puppies are great.Traction out the waaazooo!

I have to say My Mickey Thomson Baja Claws are great in the trail area all around but I will be getting something else to run daily on and the road. They are not road tires. Geolander do a balanceing act very well between the two. Tug[addsig]

jps4jeep, thanks for clarifying info with "I have heard" and "this is second hand info". While you're asking the reader to put less weight into what you are saying, you are only muddying the water by passing on what could likely be mis-information.

My experience with all three of those tires is that they all wear poorly on the road. If you want to get your money's worth out of an MT and it last on the highway, get a BFG MT. It'll last 50K plus, and will do halfway decent offroad. It' has a harder rubber compound than the three tires you mentioned, resulting in more miles. I won't recommend anything for offroad, as you only stressed mileage.

A benefit of belonging to a decent size Jeep club, I see what equipment works for others and what doesn't, especially tires. I'm also nosy around the local shops, and watch what they work on and what fails. I've seen many MT/R's and Yoko's wear out before 20K, enough I'd never own a set. Even if they last 25K, you may or may not be getting your money's worth.

There are about a half a dozen sets of TSL Radials being used in the club, but none long enough to judge mileage. I run a set myself. What I have seen is that they balance fairly well and do good on the road, in all types of weather, much different than bias-ply Swampers that have the poor reputation mentioned above.

I've always considered the MT/R's as over-rated and over-priced, they were a fad tire that was introduced to the wheelin population when the market was prime for a new MT tire. There hadn't been a new MT for quite some time when the MT/R was introduced, hence it's popularity.[addsig]

go with the yoks... If you are looking for durability these will last the longest out of the list and they get great traction.
