Timing

Hi everyone, newbie here. I have recently purchased a 1988 YJ straight 6 standard trans and I need to set the timing. Can someone tell me what the correct timing should be?

I believe the timing on the '88 is computer controlled and non-adjustable.

I have a stuttering problem. I cannot get the jeep to go any faster than 60 mph and then it starts stuttering. I just assumed it was a timing issues. Any ideas what it could be?

I had a similar issue on a 2001 jeep. It was the spark plugs being fowled up. Might be worth a tune up

you have a carb, set time using a vacuum gage. google vacuum gage for how to do it

The stock Carter carbs are junk. Consider a Motorcraft 2150 replacement using a Mr Gasket carb adapter. Don't waste your time or money on a Weber.
