steering help

blown XJ

so after a wheeling trip where i bent my steering links and my friend broke a tierod. i wanna get rid of the stock weak steering and upgrade to something stonger. i have looked online but i can afford the kits (just got laid off) is there any way to make a crossover style steering. i dont like the stock configuration. any help woulkd be great.

Many XJ owners convert to a YJ setup using YJ parts. You can put it on top of the steering arms using tapered inserts from Welcome to GOFERIT Offroad! . Just watch for clearance between the tierod, the swaybar mounts, and the coil perches.

Another option for steering on top of the knuckles is to use the tapered inserts along with the steering linkage from a RHD XJ. The right-hand drive linkage allows you to flip the draglink over and the bend is in the correct location/direction to clear.

If you just want heavy duty, '93-'98 Grand Cherokee steering linkage is bolt-on and heavier.

ok i will look into that. sway bar mounts are no longer on the axle. i decided i didnt need a sway bar. and my discos got mangled when my ex took the jeep out and didnt unhook them. so that made my choice easier to just lose the sway bar.
