Sputtering and not starting

I have a 2004 3.7L jeep liberty and when I start it the first time it's fine but when I get the car warmed up, go somewhere and park for a few minutes, and then try to start it again it sputters and wants to turn off and sometimes it doesn't start. I just changed the spark plugs but am still experiencing the same problem. Any idea what it could be? should I try fuel injector cleaner?

Btw, the mechanic who did the tune up guessed it might be a fuel injector issue (he was independent, and did not have jeep program to diagnose via computer). Hoping this is not the case.. I am wondering if the ignition coil packs or battery could be to blame? Thoughts?

I would check to see if any insulation came off the gas line look closely to the area near the exhaust manifold. Sounds like a vapor lock situation to me. The next time it happens turn the key on and do not start the engine for 10-15 seconds this will repressurize the fuel system and might help
