Hi All

we have just finished installing a paxton blower on a customers grand cherokee 4.7 V8.

We need to derestrict the speed limiters. How is this done ? Help greatfully received...

Thanks a lot

Seems to me, if you're installing a paxton blower on a customers grand cherokee 4.7 V8, you'd also know how to derestrict the speed limiters. :???: :???: :???:

Is it just me, or is this another spammer?

How very friendly you are on this forum. No we are not spammers. No we are not in too deep over our heads. There is a big difference between fitting a mechanical device to a vehicle and not knowing how the vehicle is speed restricted as it is normally electronic !!!

On many other cars we work on the speed restriction is on the gearbox and a simple little black box wired in sorts that out .....On the grand cherokee I do not know how it is limited

Hence why I asked the question. Its a shame as generally forums are a good source of information but I guess this one is a little too clicky !!! :?

WHY on EARTH would a Mall Crawler need a Blower??? Can't get to the parking spot fast enaough?
Depending on the YEAR of the grand cherokee the limiter would be the computer.

How do you know it's a mall crawler? It could be a huge lifted beast!

It's ashame the series of replys to this guys question came off to be "clicky". Generally we embrace noobs with open arms. Kai, this place IS a great source of information, don't give up on us too quickly!

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. --- That comes to mind from childhood. Maybe some people should practice it. Has anyone actually thought of answering the question instead of just flat out flamin the guy? Over the past 6 or so years I have been on this board, it does seem to be becoming more "clicky" and falling away from the Jeepz tradition of helping others. Therefore, I resign from this board, and wish all of you the best of luck in all your endevours.

Well that was unexpected... I wish I knew a way to keep you here Raven, but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. Sorry to see you go.

We have quite a tangent here, back to helping Kai...

Remember that everybody DOES have the right to do whatever they want to their own vehicle. We shouldn't jump on someone just because they want to do something that we wouldn't do. Play nice people.

You, of course, are absolutely right and I hope that you will accept my humble apologies. We have just had a glut of spammers on here, and the wording of your post struck me as very similar. Again, please accept my humble apologies for being such an arse. Since I could not help you with your problem, I should have just kept my mouth shut.............lesson learned.

Perhaps a little intro to yourself along with your first post would have helped.....just a thought, and no excuse for my response. Hope you stick around and give us another chance.........there are some really, really intelligent, helpful people on here.

And Raven, please stick around, too!! I'm still sportin' the "Jeepz.com" sticker you sent me. I'll watch what I say in the future and I'm sure others will, too.

Foot-in-mouth (again),

Sent him a PM, I hope he gets it. It reads:

Man I'm real sorry. Rather than make an excuse for my conduct all I will say is it was totally out of character.

Please forgive me and don't let my moment of stupidity ruin your outlook of Jeepz.com.

I don't think its one particular instance that makes them "get in a huff and leave." I think these people get sick of a pattern of behavior, and in this case, this thread was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Sorry, I don't see it. From my point of view this is still one of the most laid back, welcoming places on the web for jeepers.
