In Portland for the next few days, then Seattle through the end of the week,... anyone have any good suggestions? I am up here on business, so from 9 to 5 I am stuck,... well,... ok,... maybe 10 till 4, but who's countin anyway huh?!?

Needless to say,... I am quite fond of the good irish pub,... and of course, even better, the infamous irish redhead,...:p

If you're still in Seattle on Friday the 27'th you could drive an hour and a half to Vancouver to watch the Canucks kick the Capitols butts.

The drinking opportunities are nearly endless in that region, especially with as great as the weather is this time of year there.

I am not one to drink, myself, but the Pyramid Ale House on 1st and Royal Brougham in downtown Seattle is highly regarded by many of my fellow Coasties here in Seattle. It sits right across 1st Ave. from Safeco Field. Now keep in mind that it is also two blocks from the Coast Guard Base, so that may contribute to it's popularity.

The weather has been quite nice lately, thank you. ;)

I keep trying to con the wife into heading up your way, but she's a desert rat at heart. Unfortunately the desert rat trumps the river rat

went out to seashore and astoria. I also hiked around in the woods for the afternoon. The woods up there were like nothing I had ever seen before.

Now I am in Seattle, in Everett. Only here one night though.

Too bad you're already gone. Biddy McGraws is one of the best I think (just don't go on reggae night. I almost died one time...). And Downtown Portland has Kells Irish pub. Best whiskey in the west. The wall is huge. There's Irish pubs everywhere here I think. Come back again!

I'll be back up in three weeks, so I am taking notes!! Thanks for the suggestions all!
