shifter length

Now that I have the jeep running and have driven it a little, I have found it feels like I have to reach down to the floor for the shifter. I have looked but havent found anyone selling a longer shifter...Is there one availible or maybe some kind of extension?

Not sure what you got but when I did a body lift on my old CJ I bought an extension that just screwed onto the shifter. I think I got it at Autozone or one of those kind of places.

I have never seen an extension on the market but you could make one easy enough or have a machine shop do it. Cut/machine a piece of stock to length, drill and tap a hole to match the threads on the shifter then thread the top of the extension to fit the shifter knob. Maybe cut a couple of relief slots on the sides for a wrench to facilitate tightening up the extension and knob. Just add Locktite.
