Shift issues

I have a 89 xj with i6 and it will not rev past 2600 but if I manually shift it will rev to 5600.. It is an automatic by the way... Does it sound like a tps or tcm issue?

Have you tried adjusting the TV cable? There's a cable from the transmission to the throttle body, with a button near the throttle body end. Press the button, open the throttle completely, and release the button.

I read a thread on it but haven't done it... Its my riding buddys and he is oit of town so I can't try anything right now but this weekend we are doing to put my tps and tcm on gods and see if that helps... Will also adjust the cable

Also there is a black wire and a white wire that are spiral wound that reach my transfer case but everything looks hooked up they come out by my coolant reservoir then disappear into thee cluster mess called a wiring harness
