Selectable Locker

Obviously the ARB would be a good choice, with more positive feed back than negative... but what about the electric units. the eaton E-locker and the detroit electrac locker. I have done a little searching and I have only found one or two non-commercial web page write up's regarding these units, one good one that was writen up shortly after installation and a negative one after a period of use.

second the OX locker, which from what I understand the business that made these is out of bsiness and now are being produced by another company that has addressed some of the issues with the first gen. units.

so..

my fellow jeepers, lend me you feed back if you have these.

note... I have OBA so there is not need to purchase a compressor for the ARB, right now price is what will sway my business. as well as the ability to use a stock style diff cover.

RE: Anybody have this problem? - - Broken Control Arm Brack

Front or rear?
Stock axles or heavier?

I'd hold off on the ARB after all the air leak issues I've seen, wait for a quality electric unit if you're looking to buck up the cash for a selectable unit.

If this is for the front, weld the diff and put in a cable disconnect to the pass. side. Poor man's selectable locker. It's worked great for me for several years now.

Jeep guru around here did some research and decided to give the eaton a try. He's usually not one to jump until he's convinced that something is better. From what I understand the eaton's are currently on backorder.

Let me start off by saying i ran a ARB in my d30 for over 4 years and never once had a problem with the air leaking or for that matter anything else. Now that i put d44's in with detroits i wish i would put in a ARB or even the new e-locker. Welding the spiders is not a good solution in my opinion cause the front end is still moving all the time with the exception of the pass side unless you already have hubs....anyway i'd go with the arb or the e-locker from detroit.

I've been running it for a few years, no downside I've seen from the driver's side and front driveshaft always spinning. Lincoln Locked in the rear too

RE: Re: RE: Here we go - pregnant again!

Axles are D44 F&R, and I didn't know there was a air leaking problem. I am kinda leaning towards the eaton, but still unsure.
