RPM Revs

I'm really starting to dislike this vehicle. Maybe someone has had a similar problem.
when at idle the rpms will speed up and slow down.
Runs great at highway speeds. it's just at idle........
Any Ideas? :scratch:
Oh............ Its a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L, 4 X 2.

You. Might want. To. Try a. New. IAC - (Idle Air Control) - If. This. Goes. BAD. - It can cause. Your. Idle. Speed. To. Vary a Lot. Part. Cost. About. $ 50 - try. Auto. Zone - Or any. Parts. House. Also, CHECK. Your. Vacuum Lines. - ENSURE they are in. Good Shape. (No vacuum. Leaks) Just a few. Suggestions. JB

Turned out to be the Throttle Position Sensor.........40 bucks all is good

sometimes, even after i've changed my TPS, i've still had a lingering problem as you've described. on two occasions a follow up treatment with seafoam throttle body cleaner did the trick.
