Ripped top

The day has finally come that my baby comes to college with me... no not my girlfriend... even better!!! MY JEEP!!! but her top's ripped and as much as I like driving her topless, that's not an option right now

. The top's ripped in the back where it stretches over the frame, but only on the right side (when i go to slip the rear passenger side in... it tears). I need some kind of a rig that will hold up until January. I dont have to worry about wind, snow, and mostly even rain. I can't have this thing flapping when I drive. Mostly, I need it to make the 6 hour drive from my home to SIU. Any MacGivers out there? Thanks a lot! -Mike[addsig]

or go find some one who does heavy duty sewing. I once had a zipper go bad and i found a shop that took a brand-new canvas zipper and sewed it in where the old one was. I'm sure they could do the same thru plastic. It only cost me $40 for a new zipper that they provided.

I had a similiar problem and just took it to an apholestry repair shop. They glued a patch on to make it water tight, then sewed around it. It held up for three years without ripping or leaking. It cost me $25.[addsig]

Thanks a lot guys... I have another problem. My parents are now telling me that my Jeep might not come down this weekend because of a leak near the rear drive shaft. Jeep fixed it before, but it's doing it again. My parents are worried that one of the U-Joints will get messed up (whatever), but I dont nkow exactly what it's leaking. It's leaking very little. Would the Jeep make a 6 hour drive with this tiny leak? Thanks -Mike

Yeah, listen to berretta. If they are a bit paranoid just tell them to stop every 2 hours and check look under it. It's a Jeep, it doesn't leak, it marks it's territory.[addsig]
