Ripped off last night...

The Mighty YJ has sat in front of my house for more than three years. Last night, someone ripped it off. It has the soft top on now.

They took the sub woofer, a battery pack for a telescope, stuff from the pried open console Including my tire deflators. They did not damage the Jeep. Could not figure out how to open the back swing away tire gate or they would have had my tools. They left the radio so I figure they were discovered or got scared half way through.

They left all of the winching supplies also.

Total loss is about $200 Loss is much less than my deductible.

Police cannot really do anything.

Such a bummer. I'm selling my well-used RV and parking the Jeep in the back from now on...

that sucks! it was probably young kids who did it. you got lucky b/c they probably didnt know what the winch supplies were. good luck on finding them

I know the feeling I've had two cd players and a box with dual subwoofers end up missing. I have a tuffy overhead box for the headunit and when I built the tire carrier made put a locking lugnut to hold it on. Not impregnable, but most thiefs are looking for a quick steal not something they have to work for. I never ever leave my jeep without giving it the once over to make sure nothing valuable is in it and everything is locked up(except the doors because tops are expensive).

I am sorry for your lost cewtwo. I know words dont help but there all we can offer. Thank the good lord they didnt cut your soft top and didnt take everything. Hopefully the local police will catch them and get some if your stuff back.

That really sucks, my condolences. I really am getting tired of thieves. And then they say that something stolen is not worth a life, it is if you worked your arse off for it.

I replaced the subwoofer over the weekend. Before I had a Bazooka Subwoofer, but this time I went with something more conventional. I spent $185 for a 10" speaker, enclosure and an amp. Sounds very good!

I have a radio that reads USB devices. It reads up to 4GB devices with folders 2 deep. Rather limiting. I got an "external in" cable for it so I can listen to my 3rd Generation iPod. It works great and cost almost nothing.

Always a hassle somewhere!
