RE 5.5 lift Extreme Duty

I've been toying with the idea of the RE 5.5" extreme duty..not the long arm kit.

Anyone ever ride this? or know somebody that did?
I would go the long arm, but I can't weld at all and don't know anyone that can. If i'm not mistaken this kit has bolt on control arm drop brackets.

Also with a 5.5" lift..SYE is a must, but what about the front drivehsaft? that gotta be replaced or will it be alright?

Your front driveshaft will be fine, and yes you'll need a SYE in the rear. You might be able to get by with a 1" TC drop until you got the SYE and CV rear shaft.

I've got 5.5" coils on my MJ without the drop brackets, so it'll work good on your jeep with the brackets. You'll retain driveability onroad and off as the brackets keep suspension geometry closer to stock.

I was dead set on installing the drop brackets on my XJ (have a set in the garage), but after seeing a set on one I am undecided because of the loss in ground clearance. I'm now leaning towards long arms.

Every writeup I've seen about the brackets complain of a difficult install due to a poor fit, but they all praise the results when done. Just thought I'd prepare you for it.

I've read the same about the install.

They also mention that they've never hit the control arm mounts and it really doesn't get in the way..I wish i could really see one in person to poke around.
