Putting a Trac lok rear end in my 96 ZJ

I have a 96 ZJ with a Dana 35 rear end 3.55 gears. Is it possible to buy a trac lok carrier and install it in my axel with the 3.55 gears. I used to have a 93 YJ with a Trac lok and was very happy with it's performance based on what I needed it for. I have also considered a Powertrax, but didn't see the need for that much of a locker in my daily driver, that will make more than a few 2,000+ mile trips in the next year. Any info would be great and thanks ahead of time for your help.

RE: yj frame

Yes. The friction surfaces in a conventional LS unit wear over time, so a used unit isn't a very good option. I think a new Trac Lok is about $200.

The trac lok isn't known for being the best LS in the world. The one in my TJ works great......so I know it wasn't offroaded much before I got it, because they wear out quick if you work them. Compared to most other LS units, they don't work that well and don't quite "limit the slip" as much as they should. If you were happy with it in your YJ though, go for it.
