Has anyone had trouble with the plastic bushing wearing out in the bell crank working the clutch? Mine seem to last about a year. I wonder if there is a metal bushing that can be used instead of the plastic one?
Replace the worn bushings in the Z-bar with new factory replacements and replace the linkage with a setup like this one. The bushings are wearing because of flex. When the Jeep flexes the frame twists as the engine moves, and the linkage tries to bind up. The bushings don't allow much movement, so it's like wearing out a u-joint by running it at too steep of an angle. The heim joint linkage will keep the rods from pulling on the z-bar when flexing because they allow for angularity. This along with poly engine/transmission mounts will eliminate clutch linkage problems. The Advance Adapters chain linkage is supposed to be nice too.
