Piggy backin Duraback-in

Currently have a layer of black down in the jeep. Looking to put tan in the tub. Any advice for installing a layer on an existing layer? Also, any advice on duraback and how it holds up if I were to swab some on my roof rack? I put POR-15 and the UV resistor on it and it has peeled and faded to black. Rest in peace Johnny Cash. I cant tell u anything about Durabak but I know herculiner will bond to damn near anything (especially clothes) as long as it is clean. I would wipe it down real good with acetone and maybe consider swiping some sandpaper across it...
