Paragon?

Just wondering what the best deal is for an overnight stay close to Paragon (the closer, the better). I'd like to get the best deal I can get for a clean place. Not worth saving the money for a grubby place imo but I don't need luxury either. I toyed with the idea of camping, but that'd be a bit much for my 8 yr old.

I'm heading up there with my local club on the 13th.

Hey White - is this an open day or is it something my club (Maryland Rock Raiders) reserved? If it's an open date It would be great to see some of you folks make it!

One more question, can I just get a flag there?

If you go to the PAP website I believe they have a list of nearby hotels and campgrounds, and yeah you can get a flag there. I think its 15 bucks. White, care to step in?

Laura Boston had a Place ( Cheap) That she stayed at. It had more things then the Sheraton or the Hilton
:) ???Maybe the Hazleton Motor Lodge ? ? ?
Your Club just made the reservation, But the park is still open to everyone else too...
Iam not sure If I'll be up there, I have plans for the 13th :( ....
They have cheap flags that slip over a factory antenna, But the antenna must be 1 foot above the highest part of your jeep, They have flags on fiberglass sticks, they cost 10-15 and Another flag that can be closed in a window. If you have any ORANGE safety flags from work Twisted, Just attach it to your antenna and save a few bucks. There flags are approx. 12"x8".

I finally make it up there... geez. Well I have a feeling I'm going to go again many more times. There is really no legal places around here worth a darn so they do many runs @ PAP and Rousch Creek too. Well there's one legal spot but it is not that big so it's no good for big groups and it gets old after a while. I'll catch up with ya on the next one if you don't make it.

Good idea on the work flag, I'll zip tie it to my magnet mount CB antenna on the roof.

I don't really need any frills with the room, I just want a clean bathroom and sheets. Cheap clean places are out there and I'm hoping I can find one. I'll check out that place you listed.

RE: Ultimate Jeepz.com trail ride "2"

I've stayed in that motor lodge too. Not Great but no roaches. There is a bunch of places there on that strip of road (I forget the number of the road) and they are all comparable. Good Luck!

The club leaves this area at 5:20 am, I'm now leaning towards the caravan of Jeeps. I may just go that route for the cool factor. I think Taylor would get a kick out of it too if he can stay awake at that hour.

RE: rough idle 4l

i finally met the one and only TwistedCopper in person out at paragon yesterday afternoon (sunday 3-13) – the group i was guiding were stopped for lunch on the pipeline near rattler (trail #72) and over the hill comes the gang from maryland...

nice meeting and chatin' with ‘yas all

Yeah that was cool running into ya:
PAP2-4.jpg

there's the sudzmobile top left {edit - }amongst the New Jersey Devils he was leading.

We had a great time. One broken (stock) Rubicon (busted his oil pan wide open on rattler), some pretty nasty body and hardtop damage to a CJ7 (he's changing the tub and didn't care - 'nuff said), a TJ with a slipping chain in the xfer case, a few stucks (not my XJ though :D ) and at one point part of our group went left when they shoulda gone right which resulted in alot of creative recovery but we got through it unscathed and all in all we had a blast. We ran mostly green and blue trails (with the exception but they were a little tougher with all the snow. I didn't get many pics but I'm hoping someone got a few of mine. I'll post what I come up with.

Probably the biggest surprise to me was the stock XJ that is in front of me in that pic. He beat the snot out of that thing but only got hung up once, but I jumped out and pushed and he was out before anyone noticed :) He did take some bypasses and left early before we hit the last trail though. Still I was impressed at his complete disregard for his vehicle.

Didn't get a chance to check out Tom's (White's) CJ7, we left late and were all real hungry.

Rausch Creek next weekend!

RE: Hot brakes

The club schedules them almost every month at Paragon from what I can tell. I'll be hoping to be off work for next month's too

In all the craziness leaving there I just couldn't swing by. We all went out to eat dinner afterwards and it took forever. I didn't even get home until after 10pm. Long day. I'll ask Jim (friend of mine) if he wants to go look for himself. I'll give him your #.

Great time, I will prolly be at paragon on sunday. I think we need to set a date for another Paragon run...

Re: new carb, now got a problem

Hey Twisted that sounds like a great idea. My friends and I were thinking about going to Paragon but we're all newbies. They're not all jeepers but If you'd be interested in leading us around we could get a nice group going.

RE: Re: new carb, now got a problem

Well I have only been there once, and to be quite honest you would want someone more familiar with the place to be a guide. They have them available, I assume you could call the # on their website. Better yet get into a local club like the one I ran into up there, I don't know what their status is for accepting new members but they were called the New Jersey Devils.

I'm probably not going to go back up there until after I finish rehabbing our house in Pennsylvania and I finish putting on the new suspension on my XJ. One exception would be if I sell this house early and White still has his CJ7 for sale, I may ride up there, but I'm sure it will be sold a week beforehand

With everything being so hectic, I already had one trip to Paragon planned and had to cancel at the last minute :( Maybe in the Fall?

O well if anyone else would be interested, I know Graewulf and Joopin had an interest early on, in going with us let me know. No set dates or anything yet so im opento ideas.

There are two or three of us going up this sunday june, 12th. if there is any interest.

RE: I wish I was this cop!
