Paint failing only on the hood. Options?

The clear coat is failing on the Jeep from engine heat over the years. Looking at how to remediate. Repaint? Wrap? Plasti-coat or bed-liner spray? Other?

Thoughts and experiences?

(Ignore the dirt. It hasn't been cleaned up from spending a couple three months of off-roading in the AZ deserts).

Thx

I used monsterliner on my cj7. Worked great! Tough and hasn’t faded yet. Probably been 13 years at least.

It depends on how good you want it to look. If you remove the hood, about any autobody shop could prep it and paint it whatever color you want. Or, why not remove ut, prep it, and shaker can paint it yourself?

Will a wrap hold up on the hood with all the heat and sun? I'd avoid the wrap it it were my Jeep.

That’s bad paint from the factory.
Likely some contaminant between sprays

Common yo Tj is thin paint, bubbling and mostly lacquer checking.

Id get it repainted. Paint matching stock is easy.

UV rays are hard on paint and clear coat. That's why you see the tops of vehicles [hood, roof] have the paint fail first.
It will need to be sanded down smooth, possibly primed, wet sanded and then spray the finish.
