oil pressure?

ok my jeeps oil pressure gauge has been running high lately it normaly runs at about 40 and for the last 3 weeks it has been running high at like 80 and then after about 15minutes of driving it it goe sdown to 40 but it jumps all over the place between 40 and 80 i have replaced the sensor did an oil change i even pulled the oil pan and replaced the gasket and cleaned out the oil pan the was now alot of build up in it can any one give me some advice

Check grounds to gauges. Bad grounds will cause these types of symtoms, as well the ribbons tying the circuit together on the gauge cluster can corrode crack and cause bad connections.
I have repaired these problems by soldering jumpers to the ribbons on my '89 YJ.
Best way to check actual pressure is with a hydraulic gauge directly connected to the pressure port.
