Hey everyone! I'm new here but have a question about my 2001 XJ.It makes a clicking/clunking noise in the rear when applying the brakes. Any help is greatly appreciated. P.S. I'm very proud and excited to be a Jeep owner.

Welcome to Jeepz! Not much help for the brakes, but I'm sure someone will chime in on that.

Welcome to Jeepz! First thought form me would be check you wheel bearings! Pull off the wheel and hub and look in there! To show how much I know about LWB Jeeps or eotors if it has rear disk breaks. Any good Break shop will look and give you a free estimate then fix it yourself if you have the tools and know how! Good Luck tug

Just don't stop! Fly through those red lights, pass up the school busses, and get you a BIG bumperstop for the house - then you won't hear the noise anymore  !

Just kidding, of course. Sorry I can't be of help - about all I'm good for is humor- but welcome to Jeepz - there's alot of both here!!!

Thanks everyone! Great site.Keep the info comin'! The noise is in synch with squeaking brakes in the rear.
