Need a new clutch. Is the stock clutch enough or do I need to go to a better replacement clutch? If so what is the clutch of choice?

He knows the answer know,,, always upgrade. :-D

Funny you posted this far right....

I was just noticing that Many new folks are now posting.
And while they ARE receiving responses,

WE haven't been welcoming them like we have before.
Not as well anyway. Tug usually does a wonderful Job
of "Welcome to Jeepz" with the newbies, but with the
mods and ride coming up,,,and the sheer volume of
post, we can't expect any one person to shoulder the job.
Tug, you have been an inspiration, and an example,
thank you again. Jeep well, Jeep safe.[addsig]

I just rebuilt my 87 258, and also replaced the clutch. A stronger clutch. Might as well do it if your replacing the clutch anyway, and who knows if you add performance or plan to reallly tax the jeep, it will definatly help out. Mine has, and my legs are stronger too![addsig]

Yup I did replace that clutch and did not go stock. I went rebuilt and save a bit of cash in the process. I learned the hard way to go ahead and replace the slave cylinder any time you replace the clutch to avoid reopening that can of worms.

It was kinda hard to be not responed to back then. I was for the first time asking anyone anything on the web. Jeepz is the only place on the webb that I spend any time to amount to anything, and I am here alot.

After being shuned and not responed to I say to myself "self I said" if there is a new person comes your way at least greet him or her and answer the questions they have to the best of your knowledge.

I still do this when and if I can. This board is a pretty darn cool place if you own a Jeep. I blow my garage folks away when I walk in and say this is what I want done and this is how I want it done. Where do you come up with this stuff they say. I just smile and say Jeepz.com family members told me.

Only my first post was this one here! tug
