So I just ordered the hole slave cylinder assembly for my hydraulic clutch on my 94 wrangler Sahara. The hole thing cost me around $200 which kinda sucked for some tubes and some plastic but what ever. I get it tomorrow and need to install it that day. So what I am wondering is what should I look out for during the replacement? Is it straight forward or can I just dive into it?

Have you looked to see if you have the internal or external clutch slave? '94 was a crossover year between the two and I think all '94s should be external but I'm not 100% sure.

On those one piece units... There are a few pointers I picked up some years back... Some of these units are pre-filled with brake fluid from the factory. Do NOT open the fluid cover until the installation is finished (you only need to open it to check the fluid level after the install). Also, do not try to take the unit apart (as in don't disconnect any lines). The whole thing must be installed in one piece or you will get air in it and have a bugger of a job getting it back out. Be careful not to push on the pedal push rod until the unit is fully installed. Take it slow and easy snaking the tubes into place (a helper is good here). I'm not a big fan of plastic in vehicles but these hydro clutch setups do last a long time. I installed one of these on my 89 Dodge Cummins truck 13 years ago when I did an automatic-to-manual conversion and it still works fine. Best of luck and happy Jeepin' - John

Everything went really smooth and the clutch feels great!
