Need help for a friend!

My roomate has a 1994 ford Escort and its DEAD. I for the life of me cant figure out why. Does anyone know if there is a way to get Ford Diagnotic codes from a 94 escort?
This Board has always helped me out before so im wondering if I can get some help.[addsig]

When my old Town Car died, I went and got a code reader from Discount Auto for about 25 bucks. That's the only way I know of, but then I'm not a Ford guy. I'M A JEEP GUY. :-D [addsig]
