Mirror adjustment

I have a '97 TJ 4 cyc with half doors. Just moved from a '89 JY with full doors. The newer mirrors are great but they move out of adjustment every time I close the door. I have looked for some kind of tightening screw but have only found the two Phillips screws on either side of the ball fitting and these are already very tight. Does anyone know a way to tighten up this ball and socket fitting in the mirror assembly?[addsig]

There should be a hex screw under the black boob on the mirror. My mirrors move out of alighnment on my YJ as well. Sometimes tightening the screw works, but sometimes it does not. I ended up getting a new drivers side mirror because of that and it had been scratched pretty bad. Hope this helps-Al[addsig]

I am not sure you are refering to a TJ mirror. On my TJ mirror I can not find a adjustment screw under the mirror or any other way to tighten the mirror. Any body got any info?[addsig]
