Liberty's CD player setup

My question is about the radio system in my 2002 Liberty.

I want to have a "line in" port so I can plug my mp3 player into my car stereo. I figure the only way to get this is to install a whole new CD player unit. Right now I have the hand controls on the steering wheel and a 6 disk changer in the trunk. All the stuff that came with the car.

If I put in a new CD player, will I still be able to use those controls and CD changer? I know I'll have to hook them up obviously, but is that even possible?

Or, is it possible to some how tap into the current stereo system and manually make a "line in" port?

Thanks a lot. I know this question isn't quite as crucial as most of the real car questions here, but you guys helped me out with my last one. So I figured I'd ask it.

Not exactly a plug in, but they sell little gadgets that plug into your CD/MP3/whatever device and it broadcasts it on the radio... I had one a few years back to listen to CDs by means of a stock FM radio. It was about 20 bucks at the time, very small, and used a AAA battery. It worked very well.

Rear disc brakes

I actually have one of those right now. It really doesn't work very well. It has way too much fuzz in the sound. I got the best one Best Buy sold also.

well to answer one of your questions, you can definately use the factory cd changer with a new deck, not sure about the steering wheel controls though, you'll have to get someone elses help for that.

as for those FM tuner broadcast things, never had one, but never heard anything good about one. if you want to avoid a new deck to hook up your mp3 player, your only other option is if you have a casstte deck, get one of those converters.
