Liberty overtuned on side – Question

Hit some ice the other day in my 2002 Liberty Sport and ended ditching it. It hit a snow bank on the oncoming lane with its passenger rear tire first. Upon impact the ice on the edge of the road ripped the tire off the rim. Due to the lay of the land and the tire deflated my baby fell on its passenger side. We got out and flipped it upright and found no damage other than the outer bead popped off the rim.

Since this little mishap I have been thinking if the long list of things to check. All fluids are at the right levels etc… I just find it hard to believe it was on it’s side without one scratch. Can anyone think of anything I should maintenance or recheck … :lol:

Was it compleatly on it's side on the ground or on a snow bank. Snow is pretty soft so it may have distributed the weight pretty good. I would start by checking mirrors and fender flares. If they are not broken you may be OK. I would deffinatly have the alignment checked. If you hit something hard enough to flip you It easily could have changed the allignment. If you have that done just ask them to check to see if anything is damaged while it is on the allignment rack. Sometimes a differant perspecive will reveal things you didn't see.

You could also have a body shop take a look at it. They have a trained eye and can see things you can't. The problem is they know that and can also rip you off. If one says they see a problem take it to a few more and compare the bids to see if they say the same thing is wrong.

if you take it in to a shop... just say that you think you might notice "a little something"... such as a little wander or a little roughness in the paint or such... dont' tell them that you flipped it... then tell them after you get the opinion, see if they want to bring it back in the shop... if all sorts of problems show up, you probably shouldn't be going to that shop

Dude I am just glad to hear some one is getting their Liberty up on two wheels for a change. Sorry it happened in a skid but oh well now get it out there on the trails where you can do it for the sake of fun. tug

Sounds like it was a pretty soft roll. If it didn't hurt the sheet metal, it probably didn't hurt anything else. Just keep an eye on it.
