Is it possible to snorkle transmission?

I have a 93 YJ 4.0L with a manual transmission. When we go camping, there's a few rivers we have to cross. I have snorkled my diffs and transfercase but I cannot find a breather for the transmission. I've been told it's inside the transmission. Is there anything I can do to snorkle this so I don't get water into the transmission fluid? It gets expensive changing the fluid every other weekend in the summer. I will be getting a new clutch soon....mabye there's something that can be done while it's apart?[addsig]

you need to let us know which transmission you have. you could be getting water in the shifter access point for all we know, in which case butting an extended breather hose on it wont help.
