My Jeep was broken into AGAIN!!

OK I am new to this Carb thing so bare with me. I used a K&N in my orignal air box on my YJ and was very happy with it. Now I have the 79 CJ inline six with the carb. Question What is the best improvements for the intake here? I have read at one time or another that while TBI loves cool dry air the Carb loves Hot air for the mix. Or did I dream this sometime or another. What is the best route for me to take here. What do I need to do the snorkle this puppy to and has anyone ever fabed up a snorkle around here? Thanks in advance for any help. Tug :?

"Ponder the snorkel question, but mail lifejackets, throwable PFDs, flare gun, shark repellent and a copy of the Submariner's Handbook to Tug's house -- ASAP."

OK -- I pondered.

Tug,

This picture might give you some ideas about snorkel fabrication.

This military Jeep variant was produced from sometime after WW-II to the time of the Korean War. The Jeep was designed as a radio reconnaissance car with deep water fording capability. The radios were in the boxes at the back. The Jeep engine was equipped with a fully enclosed waterproof ignition system and the intake and exhaust snorkels. A generator, driven off the rear driveshaft, was positioned between the front seats.

Those snorkels should be fairly easy to replicate.

Also, I remember (vaguely) reading an article many years ago about a jeep with snorkels and a standard engine that was converted to run on the diesel cycle to provide the deep water fording capability. The advantage of the diesel cycle for that purpose was, of course, the total elimination of a conventional ignition system.

Now that would be a project!
