If you had it to do all over again...

I do not have a Jeep...yet. Thinking about a Wrangler. Am a desert rat and would prefer to live in Death Valley in a perfect world. Have owned/ridden Harley Davidsons and other motorcycles for several decades.

If you were to start from scratch today, how would you go about acquiring your first Jeep soft top?

Welcome to Jeepz! Are you thinking about new or used? Either way you need to just start looking at them at the dealer or used car lots, test driving, seeing what you like.

I would decide which model I wanted, cj-5, cj-7, wrangler and start looking. The widetrack 80,s models have a better ride than the 70,s cj's. I perfer the 70's models for one reason, they are not computer controlled although the ignition control module is known to go out often. Look at the back of the frame and around the spring mounts and steering box, these are stress and rust areas. I like the wrangler and think they ride great but I just dont trust all the computer control and sensors when in the middle of nowhere. I like something mechanical I can fix on the trail if the time ever arises. Good luck in your search.
