and i'm quite proud of myself, i even did a not too shabby welding job. The cat had tennis-sized balls of honeycomb clanking around inside. I thought that the tennis balls inside were blocking the air flow and it was getting backed up and causing the check engine light to come on. I was hoping that this install would resolve that problem.

I'm wondering if wranglers have an automatic setup where it tells you to check engine when its due for a tuneup. I have 74k on my 94 yj, and was wondering if its telling me that its time for a 75k tune up. Or is there something more serious going on?[addsig]

YJs have a check engine light? I don't think it's telling you to do a tune-up...I think something's wrong. Spit out the error codes to see if something else is awry.[addsig]

Time to check those codes. A bad O2 sensor will cause a cat to go bad.

The cat-back systems I've seen don't include a cat. Did you replace the cat or scrap it and install a straight pipe?[addsig]

i installed a 2in gibson exhaust...

i saw a post on here before with all of the error codes. when i turn my jeep on, or while driving, the check engine light doesn't blink... its just one solid red color. so i'm not sure how to check my messages. is there any other way or is this telling me something.

i was thinking about the o2 sensor.. but at this point i'd like to get an idea before getting ripped off at the mechanic.
