has anyone done a 318 to aw4 in a yj ?

got a friend who wants to give me a deal on a good running 318 motor from a dodge 2wdr. i was planning on a 4.0 on a 4.2 block but if i can adapt the 318 id rather fab mounts and exaust to have a cool sounding v8 .anyone know where to get a adapter for the aw4 ? novak and advance only list ford chebby and even toyota ! truck is a 3/4 1985 carbed. no testing here and i prefer the carb option over fi. budget and old habits rule !

find a 4x4 trans to fit 318.aw4 are computer controlled. dont know if you would ever get that trans to work with a carbed engine

got a plan from bounty on how to wire a aw4 shifter. BUT it looks like it would be better to shop dodge transmission transfer cases at this point. i have 1 np 231 and 1 np207 and a jeep/chev turbo 400 with quadra puke all sitting around but was my buddies truck is 2 wh dr i dont know the transmission model as i never thought about keeping it until now. maybe it can be converted like the turbo 400s can by a novak adapter ?:???:
