hail and soft tops

What kind of hail will a soft top handle?
Living in tornado alley its always been a concern but with previous homes and jobs Ihad access to covered parking of the concrete type. Now no covered parking of any kind.

Put the top down.Hard top may be worse,depending on the hail size and speed it may be possible to crack the fiberglass top.If you have advance warning could always through a piece of plywood on top.

My soft top took a direct hit in the side from a golf ball. I don't know exactly where it hit but somewhere rear of the door window. I found no damage. It was loud. :lol: - John

The thing I love about my softtop, is that they are nearly indestructable (unless of course you take a knife to it or something of that nature). I have had hail hit my soft top (golf ball sized) and nothing has really happened to it. I guess you would need something sharp to really tear up or destroy a softop.
