2wd?

im just about to graduate and my jeep needs new tires, so the parents have offered to buy me some. my question is, what are the biggest tires i can fit on my factory heigh XJ. i also plan to throw on some AR 767's. i want the jeep to have a wide and aggressive stance so how much backspacing would you reccomend i get? as for the tires, i plan to get wrangler MT/R's. thanks ~ max

With no lift on a 96 you really won't want bigger than 235x75R15's if you plan to go offroad, 30x9.50x15 might squeeze in there since it's a pre-97 year. For the money you'd have them spend on MTR's, you could get a cheaper set of tires and a 2" budget boost (do-it-yourself install). Just a thought - then you could go with 30x9.50x15's or maybe 31's but they will rub offroad. Backspacing? 4.5" is good. 5.25" is stock. The lower the # the further they will stick out. 4.5" BS will spread your wheels 1.5" apart from each other.

haha, no far right i've been behaving on the road. i've just been busy finishing up my high school career and now its finally over. i just ordered my tires. i went with the 235/75/15 MT/R's. everything should be here by this weekend. i also may be lifting soon if the graduation gifts keep pouring in. so wheres the jeepz.com trail ride this summer?
