Goodyear MT/Rs

I had Goodyear MT/Rs on my TJ for about 34,000 miles and while they were good on rocks, gravel and dirt and just ok in mud, they really really stunk on wet pavement. I've now had my BFG ATs for about a thousand miles and they stick like glue to wet pavement. With the MT/Rs, I could break the rear end loose in the rain with just a slight tap of the gas pedal while going around a corner. Everytime, it was easy. My wife was afraid to drive it in the rain because she almost did a 180 a couple of times. Anyone else have similar experience? I'm loving the ATs but haven't had them off road yet.

I hope the MT/R's are a little better than you say, I just picked up a set for onroad use over the winter. Not my first choice (or second) as I think they're overpriced and overrated. They do suck in the mud, but these won't see the trails under my jeep, that's what the TSL's in the garage are for.

I never minded them, I just had to be conscious of how hard I accelerated around corners in the rain. Also I never had a problem with them at highway speeds in the rain or deep water at speed. I really didn't give it much thought until I got these new tires and they made me realize how bad the previous tires were. Give me your verdict after you've had them awhile.

I drove close to 60K on two sets of 35' MT/r's in the rain and snow here in Utah.
I had very little problems with either set with slipping. They did wear fast and I had to rotate them every 3 to 5k, but other than that, they worked just fine.

I did do the chalk test, take white chalk and scribe lines across the tires and take a drive for a few minutes. By adding or subtracting air pressure to get the chalk line to wear perfectly across each tire. I had to run 28psi in the front and 30psi in the back to get full contact.

I have recently changed to 33inch BFG AT's, my air pressures are a bit higher, but I still run two different pressures from front to back.
