Gas door

I dirve a 1995 jeep grand cherikee and I am wondering how to repair or adjust the chetch on the gas door, it jammed last winter and the chetch will not come out to chetch anymore, yesterday I sprayed it down withe wd40 to no avail,

If you open the rear hatch and look down and left you'll see an acess panel. Open it and you should be able to at least check that your alternate door release functions correctly. It might be that something is resting on the cable in there. And you might be able to get a flashlight in there to see the backside of your fuel door, maybe.

I have looked there and found the pully, it pulls the cetch further into it plastic guide, but not out, I tried adjusting it form there and the same thing, please help

Alrighty then, I just looked at mine, a 93, the same I'm sure, and what we have is a cable end that's made to snap into place easily on the assembly line. Since the cable end or cetch is jammed into that cable assembly, I'd say you're caught. You'd save alot by going to a local scrapyard and get another cable. I'm sure a Jeep dealer wants a small ransome for such a thing. Something else to consider is getting a gas cap assembly from a TJ to replace the whole thing. I've seen pics on nagca.com where guys have done it that way and it looks pretty good. Take care.
