fuel injection from chevy s-10

i have access to an s-10, with fuel injection, is there a way to make this work on my 88 4.2 carbed 258?? i can probably get the whole truck, so what would i need to make the conversion smooth? computer, wiring, etc... anyone ever heard of doing something like this b4. any links or similar mods???

i'm gonna go ahead and say that yes, it can be done... but no, you don't want to go through the trouble for the small gain

What type of fuel injection we talkin, MPFI? TBI?

You'll need a throttle body to replace the 4.2L carb, doubt the chevy will work. You need to fabricate a crank position sensor as well, either in the bellhouing, or a kit that uses the harmonic balancer. Be easier to use a head and FI and computer from a jeep 4.0L.

sounds like a bad idea. i don't really wanna tear everything down and te try and put something in that will only slightly benefit my rig. iguess its back to the drawing board. thanks for the heads up Bounty, Snitty. good lookin out.

There is a guy that sells conversion heads on ebay for the 258 4.2l to run the 4.0l injection. The sellers ebay name is cchcylheads
right now he does not have any up for bid but if your interested you might want to contact him. The 4.3l can be put in but you may as well put in a 350 it will cost the same. Good luck
