I am trying to find out what the differance is between a 1990 2.5 throttle body injection and a 1993 tpi injection 2.5.

I mechanically know the differance but what about the driving differance. I assume the tpi is better but I know someone selling a 1990 throttle body wrangler for a good price and wanted to know is there a power differance, does the throttle body run fine on steep inclines like the tpi does.

Are there any problems with the throttle body etc.?

I had a 1993 tpi so I am familiar with the power output of that motor.

Any info would be great.

TPI injection? u mean MPI injection? The MPI injection is better with fuel milage and supposed to have more power.

OOPS your right that is what I meant. Thanks that is what I thought I figured they changed for better economy and maybe some more power but I wasn't sure. :D

The MPFI introduced in '91 is more effecient and produces more HP than the earlier TBI design.
MPFI=Mulit-Port Fuel Injection
TBI=Throttle Body Injection

also with the multi port you have an injector for each cylinder, if you have an injector problem it runs rough but runs.. if you have TBI - you have 1 injector - if it goes your dead..
