Hi guys,

I have jeep cherokee 2001 , 4.0 L Engine , automatic gear, a full tank of fuel give me 500km.

but before i have cherokee 1998 , 4.0L , manual gear and a full tank gaves me about 700km

Whats wrong with the cherokee 2001?is this normal with automatic gear?

Thanx [addsig]

The automatic will use a little more gas, so will a full time four wheel drive, as will smaller tires. Keeping it under 2000 RPM and using the max factory tire (225-75, I think)(235 or 30 inch are better) will help some with mileage, as will a clean air filter. The 4 L has alot of wasted torque. 10 liters for a hundred kilometers is exceptional for a 4 liter, the 14 liters per 100km your getting now is still not bad. I often use 20 liters per hundred, just city driving in my 96. I get about 12 on the highway @ 2400 RPM.[addsig]
