Extra lift to clear thirty threes?

I am currently running a 2.5 Rancho susp. lift with 31's and want to step it up to 33's. Problem is I dont know if I should go with a one inch or two inch body lift, or a shackle lift. If I do a body lift I would put some lifted motor mounts in, but would that mess up the tcase drop I already have. Any opinions or advice from your own experiences would be great. Thanks

Is it possible?

Well we have a bit of a problem here! well not really but some options. Too long of shacles are not really a good idea, the same can be said for a 3" body lift. If I was in you situation and wanted to keep some good articulation, 1" body lift with 3/4 shackles, and a set of TJ flares, That should be enough to safely wheel some 33's

Sounds good to me, one inch bl with a small shackle it is. Do you know anything about the lifted motor mounts and wether they are a good idea or not and how they will affect my tcase drop?

I have not gone this route but have hed some mentioning of a motor lift taken the place of a transfer drop as it will incress your angle some what. It may be a great thing to lift the motor and leave the transfer case down the angle should be a bit better with the combo of the two. Help me out here as I am shoting from the hip. just seems logical to me. tug

A one inch motor lift will not hurt your jeep, accually it will help in a couple ways.
1 if yo do a one inch BL, you normally have to lower the radiator shroud, if you do a 1 inch motor lift, you won't have to lower the shroud.
2. It will decrease the angle of the drive shaft like tug said, decreasing the amount of vibration. If you do the 4 of those things, which is a bit pricy, but your jeep will definatly be a lot better off. I am planning a 1 inch BL, TJ fenders, and 1 inch Motor lift!

i'm with them... the motor lift will only be an advantage... it will not hurt anything at all... don't go any more than 1.5 if you go with shackles

Thanks alot guys, that ends the debate, but if I do some shackles do I need to get greasable shackles or does it matter? Articulation would be nice...

if you want articulation, it is important not only to fit the tires, but to make sure they have room to travel as well... 2 very inexpensive way to help your articulation would be to remove your rear tracbar and get a set of swaybar disconnects... both the tracbar and the swaybar do a lot in keeping your axles level, and if you can disconnect them, you will have a much better chance of keeping 4 on the floor on uneven surfaces... as far as the shackles go, you don't have to get greasable shackles, but it does help in the smoothness of your ride... i've done a few shackle lifts, and never have i used the greasables, and i have never come across a problem.

if you want better shackles, and want GREAT articulation, you can go with a revolver shackle, this allows for an added 9" of drop in your wheels.. and will add about a quarter inch to your clearance
