excessive gas use

Hey Guys, I have a 88 XJ with a hundred forty thousand plus miles on it, and lately, I've notice the mileage going down. I use to get around 300 plus miles on a tank, now its down to around 200... I've replaced bad injectors, installed all new pcv lines and such. The catalatic converter has been replaced some time ago, but I was wondering if anyone has had or seen this problem, and fixes that are known.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Does it sound any different or run slower??? Oxygen Sensors and MAP sensors rob gas alot, try those. I had to do that to mine before.[addsig]

Take a look at your air filter too.... Have you looked for leaks? oil and gas

Thanks for the input guys, but none of the above seem to fit. It does run fine, of course it doesn't seem to have the power that it use to, but with 140K plus, I wouldn't expect it to. I have replace the sensors in mention before because of other problems and that fixed those. It does have a new air cleaner that I replaced after doing all of the pcv work. And no, my brakes aren't stuck, although I did just have them replaced.
I think I'll see about removing the cat converter and see if that helps any.
Thanks for any other help...

i suggest you leave the Catalytic Converter on. Taking it off will do two things...
It will make the jeep non emissions legal and eat up gas. Also, you can possibly burn and warp your valves by having a lack of backpressure. All Jeeps require a bit of backpressure.
As for your gas problem. Maybe you might have a problem with the fuel sensor in the TBI. If the fuel sensor (or air sensor?) in the TBI is dirty, the engine thinks its not getting enough gas, so it adjusts the fuel curve to put in MORE fuel. Buy some Throttle Body cleaner and clean the butterfly and wipe out the inside. Works wonders for me. More power too....
