Ok...Here's the story. Messed up a valve on my 97 4 banger tj. No problem remove cylinder head, get it fixed......ok, so i decided to put new lifters & rods.....and i was having oil pressure problems, so I installed a new pump......since the oil pan was off......hey new bearings all the way around. Since it's all back together now.....It's idling rough, it feels like I'm towing a trailer.....and the oil pressure still drops to nothing when i come to a stop.....any ideas! I'm at a total loss.

Ok....here's the story. Got it diagnosed....gave up on trying to figure it out. Was told I needed 2 fuel injectors...1 & 3.....ok no prob......so i bought 2 new injectors. Installed them, no problem right....WRONG!!!!!! no difference. What the heck is up.......ok took the whole darn thing apart again......guess what? The Parts place sold me the wrong lifters. I put the old ones with 125,000 miles on it, back in.....now it runs like a dream. Ok oil pressure still drops.....so I'm gonna put in 30 or 40 weight oil....hell it's almost summer here in Houston

Good luck, sounds like you would have been better off buying a longblock. Should have put in a performance cam while you were in there.

The oil pressure dropping to 0, is that related to the RPMs dropping to near 0 at a stop? If it is, figure out the idle issue and you'll have the oil pressure problem licked.

Clean the throttle body real good, and consider the possibility of the throttle position sensor (tps) or idle air control (IAC) motor being bad.

well if all the lower bearings and the pump is new i would check the pressure sensor, that could be bad or maybe you have a bad cam bearing that will cause you to lose oil pressure..
